Mozzwise Briefing

Dominica
Overall Risk: Low

Dominica has year-round mosquito activity, with peak risk during the wet season from June through November. The mountainous interior generates significant rainfall and humidity, while the coastal areas around Roseau are the main populated zones at risk.

Dengue fever is the primary concern, with low-level activity. Dominica has no malaria transmission. The islands small population means outbreaks tend to be limited in scale. Hurricane-related flooding can temporarily increase breeding habitat.

Aedes aegypti is the dominant vector in populated coastal areas. The volcanic mountainous terrain and dense tropical vegetation create humid microclimates that support mosquito breeding.
